CDS appoints new chairman and new CEO

Convention Data Services (CDS) has appointed a new chairman of the board as well as a new president and CEO.

Doug Levinson is the new chairman of the Board,and John Kimball will be the new president and CEO. Levinson will participate in quarterly board meetings and will also act as an advisor to the CDS executive staff. Kimball will direct the day-to-day operations of the company.

Levinson, formerly the president and CEO of the company, brings to his new role over 37 years of business operations and management knowledge, along with a wealth of experience in strategic planning.

“In the registration business, companies are usually focused on the next 12 months at a time,” said Levinson. “My role as chairman of CDS will be to look at where our industry is heading in the next three to five years and help develop a roadmap for the future.”

set his first priority: getting out and meeting with the clients, and listening to ensure that CDS is meeting their expectations.

 

“I want to build upon CDS’ current foundation and ensure that we are innovative in technology, service oriented and focused on building long-term value for our clients,” said Kimball.

Throughout Kimball’s 15 years with CDS, he has proven himself to be a leader with sound judgment. Prior to his new appointment, Kimball held the position of CFO for the company. As CFO, he played an integral role in establishing and improving the company’s structure, which allowed the company to grow and earn national recognition for four consecutive years as one of the fastest-growing private companies in the country.
