CES Asia Receives International Excellence Award

The International Association of Exhibitions and Events honored CES Asia, produced by the International CES (Shanghai) Exhibition Co., as this year’s recipient of the IAEE International Excellence Award.

The IAEE International Excellence Award recognizes an individual or organization that has made exceptional strides in creating, launching and managing an event in the exhibitions and events industry on an international scale.

CES Asia has seen significant growth over the past three years, as reported in the event audit conducted by BPA Worldwide. The 2018 show broke records reporting 46,748 total attendance, including 529 exhibiting companies and 1,439 media—2.5 times larger than its inaugural show in 2015. Nearly 10 percent of attendance came from outside mainland China, including South Korea, Japan, the U.S., Taiwan, Hong Kong SAR, Thailand, France, Singapore and Germany. The 1,439 members of the media that attended represented 31 countries, regions and territories.

“CES Asia is a launchpad for Asian innovations and new technologies from around the world. It is the only event in Asia that brings together the entire tech ecosystem to build brands, forge partnerships and celebrate the best in consumer tech in Asia,” says CES Consumer Technology Association Executive Vice President Karen Chupka. “On the eve of CES Asia 2019, which marks its fifth anniversary, this first-time recognition from IAEE is a fitting testament to the success behind one of the fastest growing shows in Asia.”

CES Asia will be recognized this evening at the IMEX Frankfurt Gala Dinner and Awards. IAEE’s presence at IMEX Frankfurt will also include IAEE/CEIR led in-booth education sessions and the Faculty Engagement Program, a unique opportunity for academic leaders to share best practices and offer encouragement in an open forum along with speaking to students during the Future Leaders Forum. Off the show floor, IAEE will present a session on integrated partnerships in the exhibitions industry.

“The success experienced by CES Asia speaks to the upward growth of the global exhibitions and events industry,” says IAEE President and CEO David DuBois. “It reflects the development we like to see in new shows, and we look forward to seeing CES Asia flourish for many years to come.”

CES Asia 2019 will be held June 11-3 in Shanghai, China, and will focus on the latest innovation in AI, 5G, vehicle tech and startups from around the world. This year’s show will feature more than 550 exhibiting companies, including more than 115 startups, representing the full technology ecosystem.
