CES Opens Day Two with Abbott Keynote

CES® 2022 returned ‘home’ to Las Vegas, kicking off the world’s most influential tech event with innovation that will improve world health and safety and change lives around the globe. With more than 2,300 exhibiting companies, including 800 startups, CES 2022 features the latest transformative technologies, including vehicle technology, artificial intelligence, digital health and smart home tech, as well as new categories: NFTs, food tech and space tech. Owned and produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)®, CES 2022 runs through Friday, January 7, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“At CES 2022 this week, we will be immersed in the innovation that will reshape our societies and solve fundamental human challenges in the decades to come,” said Gary Shapiro, president and CEO, CTA during his morning State of the Industry Address on January 5. “With innovations in AI, digital health, transportation, drones, smart cities, digital assets, space tech and more – these technologies are making us better – improving what we as human beings are capable of doing.”

Several speakers are scheduled for January 6, the second day of the show.

The Abbott  Keynote takes place at 9am in the Palazzo Ballroom in the Venetian Expo. Abbott, the first healthcare company to keynote CES, shares how the technology revolution in health care empowers patients to improve lives. Robert Ford, Abbott’s President and Chief Executive Officer, will speak. Previously, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer, with responsibility for all of the company’s operating businesses; and Executive Vice President, Medical Devices, leading our Diabetes Care, Cardiovascular and Neuromodulation businesses.

At 11am in the Mariposa Ballroom will be a talk titled Content to Commerce: How Technology Flipped the Customer Experience. Michael Kassan, Chairman and CEO, MediaLink; Tariq Hassan, Chief Marketing and Digital Customer Experience Officer, McDonalds; Julia Boorstin, Senior Media & Tech Correspondent, CNBC; Cara Sylvester, Chief Marketing and Digital Officer, Target; Edward Kummer, Chief Digital Officer, GM; Asha Sharma, Chief Operating Officer, Instacart; Sarah Franklin, President and Chief Marketing Officer, Salesforce; and Kevin Mayer, Chairman, DAZN Group will be speaking. Digital transformation has completely reshaped consumers’ expectations of two things they love to indulge in: watch entertaining content and shop.
