Vicenzaoro January 2022 will be entering the international dimension with CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, which has once again chosen the international gold and jewelery event of reference, organized by IEG – Italian Exhibition Group, as the ideal setting for its important appointments.
The long-standing collaboration between CIBJO and IEG, ongoing for over 10 years, bears witness to a joint effort to disseminate the cardinal principles of CSR, transparency and sustainability, by offering case histories and direct experiences of the highest level. A concrete added value for sector operators, who find a B2B platform of reference for the entire industry in IEG’s international events.
On 24th and 25th January, Vicenzaoro will host the General Assembly of CIBJO, the World Jewellery Confederation, the final session of the CIBJO 2021 Virtual Congress that took place over eight days last November. This hybrid event, which will see 70 international delegates gathered together at the Vicenza Expo Centre, will be transmitted live in streaming, thus involving stakeholders from all over the world.
It will be a key moment in which to take global stock of the sector and of the international industry standards for diamonds, colored stones, pearls, gem labs, precious metals, coral and responsible sourcing as well as an opportunity to finalize the ‘World Jewellery Confederation Education Foundation’ (WJCEF) program on responsible and sustainable activities within the sector and CIBJO’s cooperation with the United Nations.
“We would like to thank IEG and its Vicenza team for their generous offer to host our General Assembly and, in doing so, provide the chance to meet again, face-to-face, after a period of over two years,” said CIBJO President Gaetano Cavalieri. “The COVID pandemic has taught us all how life can continue online but the element of physical interaction is impossible to replace. By developing its hybrid format, Vicenzaoro has pioneered a new way of doing business and we are delighted to be able to take advantage of it. I hope as many members as possible will be able to make the trip to Vicenza in January.”
On 23rd January, the eve of its General Assembly, CIBJO will be giving two seminars open to the public at Vicenzaoro on responsible sourcing, social activism and sustainability in the jewelry sector.
The first, entitled “Emphasising jewelry’s positive impact on society, as an integral part of its value proposition” will deal with how, in order to meet the strong demand for fine jewelry and the profound ongoing cultural change, retailers can take action to demonstrate their commitment to meeting consumer expectations by supporting sustainability initiatives and communicating the positive impacts of jewelry on society. The second, “Innovation and technology in jewelry manufacturing, supporting creativity and driving sustainable impact”, will explore how the increased use of new production technologies is not only enabling higher precision in finished pieces and manufacturing processes but also greater creativity, thus helping to attract a more inclusive and diverse range of jewelry designers and a more widespread use of alternative materials.
