CIC calls for 2015 Hall of Leaders and Pacesetter Awards nominations

The Convention Industry Council (CIC), an organization that champions the economic and social value of the meetings and event profession, is accepting nominations for the 2015 class of its Hall of Leaders recognition program and Pacesetter Awards program.

Print“For three decades, CIC’s Hall of Leaders has honored outstanding leaders and innovators whose contributions have shaped the industry and whose efforts continue inspire and improve it,” said CIC CEO Karen Kotowski, CAE, CMP. “And on the heels of the very successful 2014 Hall of Leaders Awards Gala, held in conjunction with IMEX America in Las Vegas, CIC is now looking for the next class of forward thinkers and risk-takers.”

As a natural extension of the Hall of Leaders, the Pacesetter Awards recognize emerging leaders and industry supporters in “real time,” rather than over a lifetime. The Pacesetter Awards recognize those whose recent accomplishments speak highly of where the industry is today and chart a course for where it is headed.

Since its inception in 2012, CIC has honored nine emerging leaders with this award. Measuring individual excellence, the Pacesetter Award has three focus areas including Young Professionals; Sustainability and Social Responsibility; and Leadership and Innovation.

Nominations may be submitted either by CIC member organizations or the general industry community. This year, all nominations and forms must be submitted online.

The deadline for nomination forms to be received is 5:00 p.m. EST on March 1, 2015. All essays and supplemental material must be received by 5:00 p.m. EST on March 15, 2015, without exception. Those chosen to receive this distinguished honor will be formally announced in the spring of 2015 and inducted at an awards ceremony later in the year.
