In 2025, Condit Exhibits will celebrate 80 years as a leader in experiential marketing, reflecting on its journey from Denver’s first graphic design firm to a global force in tradeshow exhibits, museum displays, corporate installations, and temporary structures.
Founded in 1945 by artist Bill Condit, the company has remained resilient through decades of change, evolving its offerings to meet the demands of modern marketing while maintaining its core values.
CEO Mike McGowan, who has led the company since 2008, emphasized the team’s dedication and adaptability:
“I couldn’t be prouder to work alongside this team every day. Condit has a powerful legacy – one that we can all look forward to continuing to build together as we support our customers and give back to both our industry and our community.”
Key Milestones in Condit’s History
- Post-WWII Expansion: Bill Condit capitalized on the economic boom of the late 1940s to diversify the company’s services, establishing a strong foothold in the market.
- 1990s Marketing Evolution: The rise of experiential marketing transformed how brands engaged with audiences, and Condit embraced this trend by delivering memorable, customer-focused experiences.
- Economic Resilience: Recessions in 2001, 2008, and the COVID-19 pandemic tested the company’s adaptability. Each challenge reinforced Condit’s ability to innovate and implement sustainable efficiencies.
- Richard Raedeke’s Leadership: During his 30-year tenure as Director of Operations, Raedeke introduced pioneering production practices and sustainability initiatives while fostering a culture of excellence.
- Mike McGowan’s Vision: McGowan’s acquisition in 2008 positioned Condit as a leader in combining boutique design with high-quality manufacturing, unifying its workforce and achieving consistent growth.
- Exhibit Source Acquisition in 2019: The purchase of Exhibit Source, Inc. expanded Condit’s reach into the Midwest and strengthened its expertise in heavy industries and manufacturing events.
Sustainability as a Core Value
In an industry known for waste, Condit has championed sustainability with a three-fold approach: integrating eco-conscious design and fabrication, responsible material recycling and disposal, and sustainable facility management.
“In an industry that is notoriously wasteful, Condit strives to make sustainability accessible and achievable,” said Gina Marie Zanutto, Marketing Manager.
The company works with clients to tailor eco-friendly solutions, from full-scale green projects to incremental sustainability improvements, always aligning with shared goals for reducing environmental impact.
Investing in Workforce Development
Condit is dedicated to building the next generation of exhibit industry professionals. Through partnerships with local colleges, universities, and trade programs, the company introduces young talent to opportunities in the event marketing field.
By hosting site visits, offering internships, and participating in career fairs, Condit engages both creative and technical talent, from designers to machinists.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to showcase the opportunities available in event marketing,” Zanutto added. “We’ve been so impressed with the talent and enthusiasm of these young adults.”
A Vision for the Future
As Condit enters its ninth decade, the company continues to evolve with innovations like ExhibitForce, a tool for enhanced asset management that improves project visibility and client transparency.
Its longstanding focus on the food and beverage sector remains a priority, with advancements in areas such as protein alternatives, nutraceuticals, and smart packaging driving new opportunities.
McGowan reflected on the road ahead, reinforcing the company’s commitment to its core values:
“Condit’s collaborative design, high-quality craftsmanship, and responsive customer service will continue to guide us as we prioritize sustainability and workforce development.”
With the exhibitions industry rebounding and convention center investments increasing, Condit is poised for continued success while honoring its legacy of innovation.
