Convention Data Services awarded $244K training grant

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development awarded Convention Data Services (CDS) in Bourne, Mass. a training grant of $244,000.

This grant was awarded based on the plan CDS created and submitted, which is to provide comprehensive, customized training programs to its over 150 professional employees. These funds will allow CDS to execute those plans immediately, which will directly benefit all employees.

CDS’ corporate strategic plan includes a commitment to invest in its workforce. The company’s leadership believes that each employee offers unique value and potential that can be developed to mutually enrich the individual and the organization. This initiative also includes the creation of new jobs which will offer more opportunities to professionals and help maintain a thriving business community on Cape Cod.

“We are excited to partner with the Commonwealth on this very important company initiative. Through this training and our internal mentoring program, I am confident that we will fulfill our company’s strategic objective: to create an empowered, highly skilled, creative and innovative workforce. This is essential for our employees’ success and for CDS to remain competitive in a global economy,” said John Kimball, president and CEO, Convention Data Services.

Some of the areas of training will include:

  • Leadership Development
  • Project Management

Another vital component of this program for employees is mentoring. CDS will match a new employee or an employee looking for advancement within the company with a seasoned employee to provide coaching, training and to encourage a collaborative environment.
