Denmark’s chief happiness officer to present session at EIBTM 2013

EIBTM, a global event for the meetings and events industry, confirmed that the chief happiness officer and founder of Denmark-based Woohoo Inc. is set to challenge how individuals approach happiness in the workplace.

Alexander Kjerulf will challenge EIBTIM attendees in Barcelona, Spain, from Nov. 19–21.

“We are thrilled to have Alexander speaking at the show this year,” said Graeme Barnett, senior exhibition director, EIBTM, Reed Travel Exhibitions. “His innovative approach to creating a relaxed and happy workplace and his ability to keep his message simple, practical and fun is no doubt going to make for a fantastic and inspirational education session.”

All EIBTM attendees are invited to attend Kjerulf’s “What the Heck is Arbejdsglaede?!” session, which takes place Nov. 21 in the Lecture Theatre.

“Denmark is the world’s happiest country, and Danish workers are also the happiest in the world,” said Kjerulf. “Happiness at the workplace is of great importance and is a big contributor to motivation and performance. Only the Danes have a word for happiness at work – yes, you guessed it – Arbejdsglaede! In my session, I will share what it is that Danish workplaces and managers are doing right and how we can learn from them.”

The 2013 World Happiness Report ranked the happiest countries around the globe, with Denmark taking the top spot.

Kjerulf is one of the world’s leading experts on happiness at work. He is also a consultant and best-selling author of three books, including “Happy Hour is 9 to 5.” Presenting and conducting workshops all over the world, his client list includes Hilton, Microsoft, LEGO, IKEA, Shell, HP and IBM.
