Digital Signage Expo 2011 attendance surpasses last year’s numbers

Digital Signage Expo 2011

The conference and tradeshow drew more than 3,600 attendees, a 6 percent increase over 2010.

Digital Signage Expo® (DSE), the world’s largest international tradeshow and conference dedicated to digital signage and interactive technology, was a success this year. The conference and tradeshow, which took place February 21-25, drew more than 3,600 attendees, a 6 percent increase over 2010.

Both the increased attendance and the record 195 exhibitors, a 14 percent increase over 2010, validates the preeminent position of DSE as the industry’s main show.

Exhibitors reported that attendees were high-quality decision makers from a broad variety of end-user business categories, a profile that has become a hallmark of this leading international event since its inception in 2004.

“Digital Signage Expo is the premier venue for serious industry players to be seen and heard,” said Jeff Dowell, vice president of Digital Signage, LG Electronics, US. “This year’s show provided a great platform for us to discuss our SuperSign digital signage solutions with our target audience. Valuable relationships are built at DSE that not only provide LG with critical insights into the industry, but also ensure that we are providing our customers with the best products and technologies available.”

Many exhibitors reported doing business at the show, which resulted in an unprecedented onsite renewal of booth space for 2012. More than 70 percent of the 2011 floor has already committed to next year.

“Digital Signage Expo 2011 provided the right platform to showcase our digital signage solutions and engage with key decision makers,” said Kris Konrath, manager of Sony Electronics. “We definitely look forward to next year’s show.”

In addition, key attendee categories also reflected positive increases:

Client end-users: 52.4 percent, up 2.4 percent over 2010
Advertising agencies and brand marketers: 16.7 percent, up 4.7 percent over 2010
International attendees: 19 percent, up 1 percent over 2010
