DMAI names Reno native among ‘30 future leaders’

Destination Marketing Association International (DMAI) has named the social-media coordinator and public-relations specialist at the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority (RSCVA) among 30 future leaders of the destination-marketing industry.


erny_dmaiHonoree Christina Erny has worked at the RSCVA for two years and is responsible for Reno-Tahoe USA’s social-media strategy and media relations to increase awareness of the Reno, Sparks and North Lake Tahoe area.

In its third year, DMAI’s “30 Under 30” program focuses on identifying and developing the talent of destination-marketing professionals who are age 30 and under through increased access to top-level networking and professional development.

“This group of individuals not only keeps destination marketing on the cutting-edge, but is the future of our industry,” said Michael D. Gehrisch, president & CEO, DMAI. ”The ‘30 Under 30’ program provides this key group with access to new knowledge and tools that are necessary to further infuse innovation into their organization.”

As one of DMAI’s 30 Under 30 group, Erny has been awarded complementary registration and hotel accommodations to the DMAI Annual Convention, the foremost professional development opportunity for individuals working at official destination marketing organizations. Throughout the year-round program, Erny will engage in a variety of professional development and volunteer activities for sustained industry engagement.

The RSCVA is the primary agency supporting the promotion of meeting, convention and tourism business for the Reno/Sparks/North Lake Tahoe region.
