First Place went to Jim Martin, Preston Johnson, Bill Force and Tom Jazwiecki.

On June 18, 2012, EDPA Las Vegas Chapter hosted the 10th annual Tradeshow Industry Education Scholarship Golf Classic at the Revere Golf Club in Henderson, Nev. With 94 golfers and over 100 in attendance for lunch, the event was the best attended in its history.

Honored at the event was John Chadwick (Exhibit Planning and Management International) along with TWI’s, Steve Barry and Greg Keh for their part in funding the first “official” EDPA Tradeshow Industry Education Scholarship Golf Classic. Each has played a role as a sponsor since.

“The actual EDPA scholarship was started in 2002,” said Chadwick. “What TWI did was pay for the first tournament so that all the money raised from the event would go into the bank to put the scholarship in the black.  The following year was secured by the money in the bank from 2002. That year, we raised enough money to not only pay for the tournament, but have an excess to go into the bank and after the tournament in 2004. With the excess from 2002 through 2004, we were able to award the first scholarship.  The rule has always been if a scholarship is awarded then the money for that scholarship is to remain in the bank and can be used for nothing else, thus ensuring that the student will get his or her full scholarship.  What TWI did that first year was pay for the whole tournament, the golf course and all the food and door prizes.  That left all the money raised from the participants to go into the bank to support the next tournament.”

The Tradeshow Industry Education Scholarship Golf Classic was created in 2004 to be awarded to industry

members and their families to help pursue university level study. The first scholarships were made possible by fund raising efforts by EDPA members in the Las Vegas area and were awarded in the fall of 2004 to students who reside in Clark County, Nev.
