Emerald Expositions, the owner and operator of business-to-business tradeshows that was formerly known as Nielsen Expositions, promoted an operations director, according to company officials.
Filling this senior-level role is Cathy Griffith, who will oversee the production of the ASD events, a general merchandise show with more than 2,800 exhibitors held biannually in Las Vegas as well as spearheading several centralized services for Emerald Expositions.
“With Cathy’s strong industry connections and leadership skills, she will ensure that we continue to produce some of the best events in the industry,” said Lori Jenks, vice president of operations, Emerald Expositions.
Using her 25 years of experience in the events industry, Griffith will implement innovative technologies through registration and simplified operational processes to enhance the attendee experience. She replaces Cindy Sample, who now runs the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Show.
“I am thrilled to be presented with the opportunity to be involved in services that reach across all Emerald Expositions events as well as working directly on the ASD portfolio of shows,” said Griffith.
Griffith and her team are certified Six Sigma Green Belts and will collectively oversee operations for 100 Emerald events. She will be based out of the Emerald Expositions’ San Juan Capistrano office in Southern California.
