Hosting the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict from Jun. 10-13 is ExCeL London, a UK-based venue for events, exhibitions and conferences.
British Foreign Secretary William Hague will co-chair the summit with Angelina Jolie, special envoy for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
“We are delighted to open the doors of London’s International Convention Centre to welcome the dignitaries and delegates attending this historic event,” said James Rees, executive director, ExCeL London. “We recognize the significance of this global subject matter and, as demonstrated by the World Islamic Economic Forum and G20 London Summit, when something this important needs to be debated, ExCeL and London are the No. 1 choice.”
ExCeL’s International Convention Centre will stage working-level meetings on Jun. 11 and ministerial-led sessions from Jun. 12-13. There will be a large accompanying program of events alongside the formal meetings, which will provide a showcase of successful programs and policies from around the world. These events will include film showings, performances, exhibitions and panel discussions and will be open to the media, civil society and the public as well as Summit participants. British Embassies and High Commissions from around the world will also host events to coincide with the Summit.
