Experient, an integrated meeting and event-solutions company, has hired a former San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau executive as its new vice president of association sales.
Effective March 4, Barbara Herod, CMP, joined Experient in her new role, which will utilize her more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry.
“The depth of expertise in sales and team motivation that Barb brings will continue to position Experient as the leader in the meetings industry,” said Nancy DeBrosse, senior vice president of sales and account management, Experient. “She is a high-energy, high-impact professional and is a great cultural fit for Experient.”
Herod comes to Experient from the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, where she helped manage the sales of the city as a first-tier destination for meetings and conventions as the bureau’s associate vice president of sales, eastern region. Prior to the San Diego C.V.B., she worked in sales management for The Kimpton Group, Hyatt and Holiday Inn.

Herod will supervise Experient’s association strategic sales executives as well as its business development department. She is based in the Arlington, Va., office.
Experient, a Maritz Travel Company, provides registration, housing, event planning and management, site sourcing/contract negotiation, and lead retrieval services for associations, tradeshows and government clients.
