Proud to be inducted into the Meeting Professional International – Chicago Area Chapter’s (MPI-CAC) 2014 Hall of Fame on May 13, Experient, a source for integrated meeting and event solutions, also had an employee honored by the association.
During the MPI-CAC Annual Awards Recognition Gala in Chicago, Experient was honored along with its Director of Strategic Account Management Char Shada, CMP, who received the Planner Member of the Year award.
“It’s truly an honor to accept this prestigious Hall of Fame award,” said Michael Guerriero, division president of event management, Experient. “Experient has served in leadership roles within MPI for over 30 years, and we are committed to continuing to volunteer. In addition, we’re extremely proud to have Char as part of our team and for her pivotal role in and contributions to this industry.”
The Hall of Fame-Organization award was bestowed to Experient for its significant contributions to the awareness, professionalism and growth of the meetings industry as well as the time and resources it has given both locally and internationally to MPI.
Shada was honored with the Planner Member of the Year award for being an exemplary representative of the meetings industry as well as her involvement in MPI and civic activities. She has been an MPI member since 2001 and has served in many roles on the board of directors, including president of the chapter where she was instrumental in maintaining unsurpassed budget and membership numbers during times of funding changes. She was also a member of the group involved in the creation and launch of the chapter’s marketing and communications team in 2009.
The Chicago Area Chapter is one of the founding chapters of MPI and has close to 1,000 members. The Recognition Gala is held in the spring each year and recognizes the contributions, talents, accomplishments and dedication of its members and industry colleagues.
