Experient raises $4,000 for children impacted by natural disaster

Experient, a Maritz Travel Company and provider of integrated meeting and event solutions, raised $4,000 in cash and gift cards for the Convoy of Toys during the Experient EnVision conference in Houston from March 11-15. Convoy of Toys is a program of Lone Star Santas, an all-volunteer charitable organization that provides love, hope and toys to children and families in the aftermath of natural disasters.

EnVision attendees gathered together during the meeting’s closing reception at Minute Maid Park, hosted by the Greater Houston Convention and Visitors Bureau, Minute Maid Park and ARAMARK. The festivities included a dunk tank where participants could donate cash for a try at dunking Experient and supplier volunteers. The event raised $2,000, which was matched dollar-for-dollar by Maritz Travel Company. The donation will be used to procure equipment to help store and transport toys to disaster areas so children who have lost everything can be comforted by a new toy.

“Matching this donation was the right thing to do,” said David Peckinpaugh, CMP, president, Maritz Travel Company. “We strongly support our employees’ commitments to giving back to the communities in which our meeting is held each year, and we are honored to help the Lone Star Santas with their incredibly moving and powerful mission.”

Each year, Experient partners with a selected organization in the host city of its annual meeting. Since EnVision began in 2008, Experient has generated thousands of dollars and scores of donated items for organizations in need in the host city in which the meeting took place.
