Expotechnik completes management team, hires Tom Frisby as SVP

Expotechnik Group has put the finishing touch on its strategic management team by appointing industry iconoclast Tom Frisby as senior vice president of its new division, Technik Agency. Frisby is the third senior management team member hired since Expotechnik launched its U.S. growth plan earlier this year. In his new role, Frisby will lead Technik Agency, providing strategic and creative consultation to clients.

Tom FrisbyIn addition to existing key members of the executive team, Mel Blackwell, executive vice president, Tucker Ramsey, senior vice president of consulting and design and Frisby will govern the overall operations of Expotechnik America Ltd. based in Atlanta, Ga.

Frisby’s decision to join Expotechnik centered on his philosophy of what makes a desirable organization.

Mel Blackwell was recently appointed to the executive vice president role after four years managing Expotechnik’s U.S. sales and design teams. Prior to that, he spent more than 15 years holding executive positions within the telecommunications and software industries. Blackwell earned his bachelor’s in marketing at Auburn University and an MA in Organization Development at the University of Alabama.

Tucker Ramsey’s 20-year career in experiential marketing spans several supplier companies. His experience leading organizations in business development and client advocacy along with a bachelor’s in industrial design and MBA in marketing make him uniquely suited to lead business development and design for Expotechnik in the U.S. market.

During Tom Frisby’s 25-year career, he’s been called change agent, trendsetter and rule breaker. Hailed as an industry visionary, Frisby is a perennial speaker, moderator, faculty member and awards judge. His counter cultural approach to idea development has yielded some of the most dynamic and successful experiential marketing projects of the past two decades.  His motto, “If you’re not breaking the rules, you’re not doing your job,” invites Frisby’s creative teams to move beyond the ordinary and forge forward with him.  Frisby holds a bachelor’s in architecture from the University of Southwestern Louisiana.
