Vegas Teamster joins Employco USA

Steve LoPrestiA former convention business agent for the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 631 in Las Vegas, Nev., has joined the staff at Employco USA Inc. as a show foreman.

Steve LoPresti, the new foreman, brings over 20 years of showfloor experience with him.

“My first show was CES 1991,” said LoPresti. “I was hired by Eddie Douglas at CSI on the ‘Brother’ booth.”

A blue blood from Boston Mass., LoPresti studied Hotel Administration/ Restaurant Management at UNLV Hotel College from 1980-1985. He went to work for Chuck Jacoby in the finance department at the Las Vegas Hilton before embarking on a career in the tradeshow industry. He spent the first 10 years with Coastal International and the last three with Czarnowski before becoming a business agent.

Steve represented the members of Local 631 for the past three years, handling grievance disputes, signing up new I&D companies and negotiating a new tradeshow contract. He had three NLRB cases go all the way to Washington with a record of one win, one loss and one still on appeal.

“I look forward to meeting the challenges of my new role as an agent of Employco USA Inc.,” said LoPresti. “My goal is to maintain existing bonds and forge ties with new I&D companies so that Local 631 Teamsters keep working. I see Employco as a friend of the Union – a working partnership on parallel paths with identical goals. We all want to get the shows in on time, on budget, without injury and with Show Management and Union approval.”

As Employco USA Inc.’s show foreman, LoPresti’s responsibilities will include staffing assistance, payroll disbursement, loss control, show site management and raising overall customer service. Employco’s clients and employees now have their own personal tradeshow business agent in Las Vegas.
