Freeman, the global leader in events, announced today the appointment of John Herrold as Chief Financial Officer to lead the company’s finance organization focused on accounting, financial planning, tax, treasury, and business analysis.
“John is passionate about our industry, values the business we’ve built, and is eager to be part of Freeman’s future growth,” said Freeman CEO, Bob Priest-Heck. “He brings decades of finance experience and is no stranger to Freeman and our work. I am confident John will be an invaluable addition to the team.”
Prior to joining Freeman, John was a Managing Director in the Mergers and Acquisitions group at J.P. Morgan, where he worked closely with Freeman over the past five years, including the sale of Encore and the Sparks acquisition. During his 15 years with the firm, he worked with his clients on evaluating and executing value-enhancing strategic transactions. His experience also includes stints at Accenture and GlaxoSmithKline, where he focused on strategic sourcing and procurement.
“I am honored and excited to join Freeman, especially in this period of exponential growth for the company,” said Herrold. “Having worked closely with the Freeman team over the past few years, I’ve seen first-hand how special the company is and have gotten a glimpse into the incredible culture Freeman has and the values they live by, and I look forward to being a part of it.”
John completed his Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago, with concentrations in finance, accounting, and entrepreneurship after earning a degree in Supply Chain Management from Michigan State University.
