German Lighting Products Goes Galactic

by Danelle Dodds

When German Lighting Products (GLP) decided to throw their annual partner appreciation event, they knew they wanted to go intergalactic. GLP has been an established leader in the professional lighting market since 1994 as a manufacturer of innovative, high-quality, intelligent lighting fixtures. A regular at the Live Design International (LDI) convention, GLP showcases its cutting-edge technology at the event every year. However, they recognized that this year’s event was particularly special.

GLP is getting ready to celebrate its 30th anniversary in 2024. Leading with a sharpened theme of the Future of Light, the LDI 2023 event was also the launch pad of one of their most ambitious products to date, the JDC2. The JDC2 is hotly anticipated and billed as bigger, better, and brighter. The fixture is poised to revolutionize the world of professional show lighting with its enhanced display and dynamic video effects.

The team took over Superfrico® at The Cosmopolitan in Las Vegas for night one of the LDI 2023 show to capitalize on this hybrid strobe supernova. Created by Spiegelworld – the award-winning visionaries behind Absinthe, Atomic Saloon Show, OPM, and more – Superfrico® is a multi-sensory kaleidoscope of art, music, and divine dining. Known for its cosmic cocktails and Italian American Psychedelic® fare, the venue was a perfect backdrop for the company to introduce the next big thing in the lighting stratosphere.

The evening carried forward with a Galactic theme, preemptively teased on the show floor by the brand’s urging of guests to climb aboard their “GLP Spaceship.” Live entertainment swirled throughout the space as guests dined on signature cocktails and themed appetizers. A ballet dancer, a contortionist, a burlesque performance, and multiple astronauts gave attendees plenty of eye candy and engagement. With more than 1,200 guests, the event celebrated the company’s motto, “Flexibility – Family – Future.” It was a true hospitality night; attendees saved sales talk for the show floor. Instead, the evening culminated in fellowship, music, and food. Tyler Wise, sales and marketing director of GLP shared, “Tonight is simply about our exceptional GLP hospitality to say thank you to our customers and partners for a great year.” If the company’s 30-year legacy is any indication, its next chapter will be brilliant.
