CARAVAN SALON 2014, the world’s largest trade fair for mobile homes and RVs, closed in Düsseldorf, Germany, as the best attended edition in the event’s history.
“With extremely satisfied exhibitors and 192,000 visitors, CARAVAN SALON far exceeded our expectations, and we are delighted to have hit a new all-time record this year. We are particularly pleased that our new hall concept was well accepted,” stated Joachim Schäfer, managing director, Messe Düsseldorf GmbH. “Given the current market climate in Europe, it is also particularly pleasing that some 25,000 foreign visitors found their way to Düsseldorf. Trade visitors come here from throughout the world primarily to meet business partners and gather information on innovations, demonstrating the exceptional international position of CARAVAN SALON within this sector.”
The trade fair’s own campsite, the Caravan Center, recorded 28,200 vehicles. Caravanning Industry Association (Germany) President Hermann Pfaff was also delighted with the CARAVAN SALON results.
“We see the rise in visitor numbers as a clear indication of the great and uninterrupted interest in mobile home vacationing. The innovations presented here were popular, and the sales concluded also exceeded expectations. The good mood amongst manufacturers and dealers means we can start the new season with a good tail wind,” added Pfaff.
Visitors were particularly interested in the numerous new models showcased at CARAVAN SALON for the first time. A total of 580 exhibitors from 25 countries presented a unique and varied range of mobile homes and RVs as well as base vehicles, accessories, upgrade components, tents and travel destinations in addition to the entertainment program on mobile leisure activities.
Also experiencing success at the show were exhibitors and suppliers. The next CARAVAN SALON DÜSSELDORF will be held from Aug. 28 (trade visitors’ and media day) – Sept. 6, 2015.
