Global Spectrum, a venue management firm, named a general manager of the 8,000 seat arena and 100,000 square feet MassMutual Center in Springfield, Mass.
Until her promotion, Stacey Church served as assistant general manager of the facility.
“Stacey’s experience and her knowledge of the market, the venue and our client base make her the perfect candidate to lead our day-to-day operations at the MassMutual Center,” said John Page, president, Global Spectrum. “We’re fortunate to have Stacey and look for more great things from her and her team in Springfield.”
Church previously worked as director of finance at the (then) Global Spectrum-managed Century Center in South Bend, Ind., where on a day-to-day basis she was responsible for all aspects of the financial operations. She also worked closely with the venue’s general manager on long-term strategic planning, maintaining key relationships with staff and community partners and sales and marketing initiatives.
“Stacey is a terrific young woman who is poised to take the MassMutual Center to the next level,” said Jim Rooney, executive director, Massachusetts Convention Center Authority (MCCA).
She replaces Matt Hollander, who is relocating within the company to the Miami Beach Convention Center.
“We would like to thank Matt for his many wonderful years of service, especially helping us open the MassMutual Center in 2005,” added Rooney. “We’re excited about the possibilities for the MassMutual Center with Stacey at the helm. We are confident that Stacey will continue to exceed expectations when it comes to the success of the MassMutual Center.”
Church is an active member of the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), serving as the membership committee chair for Region I and on the Women in Leadership Planning Committee. She has also served as a mentor through Global Spectrum’s company-wide How You Growin’ program, which grooms future leaders of the company. She is also a member on the Global Spectrum’s Diversity Committee and was recently named as a corporate board member of the YMCA of Greater Springfield.
She holds her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky. She currently resides in Wilbraham, Mass., with her husband, Nate, and two children, Jackson and Reese.
