Go LIVE Together has joined forces with 300+ other organizations under the COVID RELIEF NOW coalition and is calling for everyone to take two action steps (detailed below) this week.
Says Freeman’s Sue Sung, “We’re feeling hopeful as economic stimulus package negotiations have regained momentum this week. Democratic leaders are backing a bipartisan compromise bill and putting pressure on Republicans to meet them in the middle. The bill would establish $300 weekly unemployment benefits and revive the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) – both meaningful provisions to support members of our community.
Although this gives us cautious optimism, the bill is far from a done deal and it’s more important than ever to make our voices heard. That’s why Go LIVE Together has joined 300 other groups in the COVID Relief Now Coalition to speak with one collective voice, calling on Congress to take immediate action and provide economic relief to both the public and private sectors which have been decimated by this pandemic.”
The video ad is running on digital platforms to target lawmakers and will be followed up with additional elements, including a COVID Relief Now joint letter and survey results, to drive a steady drumbeat of attention.

2. Email the ad to your elected officials with a personal note about why you joined the coalition and the urgency for passing a COVID relief package during the lame duck session.
It is critically important that members of Congress are hearing from their constituents on the need for additional COVID relief. By working together, we can apply pressure on lawmakers to do the right thing for our country and pass a bill before the end of the year.
