The international meetings industry honored the CEO of Gold Coast Tourism, a destination marketing organization focusing on Queensland, Australia, with an IMEX Academy Award.
The distinction presented to Martin Winter is given annually to high achieving individuals who have made an outstanding contribution to the global Meetings, Incentive, Convention and Exhibition (MICE) sector.
Recognized for his spirited commitment as a director of International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA), Winter explained what the award meant to him.
“The people in this great industry are part of my extended tribe, and I am very fortunate to be one of them. This is an unimaginable acknowledgement, and I am humbled to think I should be singled out when so many others contribute with equal passion and commitment. I congratulate the other award winners and thank Ray Bloom and Paul Flackett from IMEX for their commitment to the industry and for making this award possible,” he said.
Winter’s announcement received universal acclaim from a vast international audience at the 12th Annual IMEX Gala Dinner held at the Sheraton Frankfurt in Germany.
