Welcome to the second issue of the new Exhibit City News format. I would like to thank all of our readers for their overwhelming support of the new layout we are using to deliver industry news.
We have a lot of great content in this issue, including coverage on the HCEA Annual Meeting, the renovations and planned expansion at the Moscone Center, and an update on the new electrical service providers at McCormick Place. We are also featuring double deck extrusion exhibits, some interesting developments at the Puerto Rico Convention Center, Women in the industry and the exhibit designers of tomorrow.
Since Summer has officially arrived, I am looking forward to heading to Chicago for the Red Diamond Congress that takes place July 10-12, 2012, at McCormick Place. This event will be co-located with the Exhibit & Event Marketers Association’s (E2MA) hosted-buyer event called Face-to-Face Connections. As you all probably know by now, E2MA is the new name for the associations formerly known as the EACA and the TSEA.
The E2MA will also be announcing the 2012 Intrepid Winners at the Foundation Fundraiser Gala on July 11. The five finalists for the 2012 Intrepid Award are Amanda Helgemoe of Nuvista, Sue Huff of Medtronic, Mia Rampersad of the International Housewares Association, Czarnowski and the American Heart Association.
I also want to congratulate the Class of 2012 inductee into the EAC Hall of Fame, Steve Barry of TWI. Steve has been an active member of the tradeshow industry since 1972.
