International AIDS 2012Hargrove, one of the top tradeshow and event contractors in the United States, has announced that the company has been awarded a significant portion of the services required to support the XIX International AIDS Conference (AIDS 2012) scheduled July 22-27, 2012, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Hargrove will provide general contracting services to support the tradeshow, media and speaker centers, as well as provide the global village, registration, meeting rooms and general sessions to accommodate the more than 20,000 participants from more than 200 countries expected to attend.

“Like past International AIDS Conferences, AIDS 2012 will play a fundamental role in shaping the future global response to HIV and AIDS,” said Anouk Rey, conference director, AIDS 2012. “Coordinating a meeting of this magnitude requires partnerships and services from the event industry’s best. Hargrove’s decades of experience with global summits around the world and particularly in Washington, DC, demonstrates they are a great fit for AIDS 2012 and we look forward to working with them.”

To be held in the U.S. for the first time in 22 years, AIDS 2012 will be convened by the International AIDS Society (IAS) in collaboration with its international and local partners, and is the premier biennial global gathering for those working in the field of HIV, as well as policymakers, people living with HIV, and others committed to ending the epidemic. Based in Geneva, Switzerland, the IAS is the world’s leading independent association of HIV professionals, with approximately 15,000 members in 194 countries.

“We’re honored to support the International AIDS Society and their partners as they bring this extraordinary Conference to the United States,” said Tim McGill, CEO, Hargrove. “Given our national experience with international summits, events and tradeshows, as well as our extensive experience at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, we look forward to supporting the AIDS 2012 efforts to ensure their important objectives are achieved.”
