Hargrove, a national tradeshow, event and exhibit service provider, has received certification as a Women’s Business Enterprise by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). WBENC is the largest third-party certifier of businesses owned and operated by women in the United States.
WBENC’s standard of certification is a meticulous process including an in-depth review of the business and site inspection. The certification process is designed to confirm the business is at least 51 percent owned, operated and controlled by a woman or women. By including women-owned businesses among their vendors, corporations and government agencies demonstrate their commitment to fostering diversity and the continued development of their supplier/vendor diversity programs.
Carla Hargrove McGill, president and chief operating officer (COO) leads the company based outside of Washington, DC with her husband Tim McGill (CEO). Carla is a veteran of the industry having overseen Hargrove’s renowned events division to produce several presidential inaugurals as well as the company’s work for social, corporate, global, sporting and outdoor events. The company has experienced growth across its three product lines, tradeshows, events and exhibits, since the role of president and COO was passed on to Carla from her father Earl C. Hargrove, Jr., who started the business in 1946.
“When Tim and I took the reins of Hargrove in 2008, we wanted to continue the Hargrove legacy of incredible service, a personal approach and impeccable quality, but also expand our presence nationally and internationally,” said Hargrove. “So whether we’re involved with a G20 meeting in Korea, a special event in Central America or a tradeshow in Canada or Los Angeles, our clients have increasingly come to rely on our unique approach to service.”
