Hawaii Tourism Authority issues RFI for convention center management, marketing

The Hawaii Tourism Authority (HTA) has released a request for information from qualified entities interested in participating in the upcoming procurement for facilities management and world-wide marketing of the Hawaii Convention Center (HCC) for meetings, conventions and incentives.

The request for information is for market-research purposes only in preparation for a future land buy of the HCC. The information obtained from the respondents will be used to develop a list of interested sources. No evaluation of participating respondents will occur, and participation in the request for information is not a promise of future business with the HTA.

Failure to participate in the request for information will not bar anyone from competing in future solicitations. No contract will be awarded directly from the request. If a subsequent procurement solicitation is released, the projected date for release is late March.

The request for information form may be downloaded at www.hawaiitourismauthority.org by clicking on the link to “Request for Proposals.” Respondents are encouraged to review information on the HTA website for additional background, and responses are due no later than March 22. The official dates and times will be provided in the request for information, which may be amended as necessary.

The HTA is responsible for managing and supporting the HCC as well as the selecting the contractor or contractors directly charged with its sales, marketing and operations.
