IACC worldwide membership grows with new properties in the U.S., Europe and the Philippines

Five new member properties have joined the International Association of Conference Centre’s (IACC) worldwide portfolio of approved conference venues.

“This is a clear indication that the IACC is on the move and continues to have great appeal to meeting planners and conference facilities that want to more clearly define their distinction from other meeting places,” said Mark Cooper, CEO, IACC. “They will join the IACC’s 300 worldwide members in providing exceptional meeting experiences.”

Since assuming the role of CEO for the IACC in October 2012, Cooper has made it a key strategy to expand global membership. The IACC created a new Australia Asia-Pacific chapter in March. That chapter now boasts 23 members in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Philippines.

New members are:

First Pacific Leadership Academy, Antipolo City, Philippines

Located near Manila, First Pacific Leadership Academy is the first dedicated corporate university in the Philippines and provides need-specific executive-development programs that help ensure management development and leadership succession. The academy’s programs are custom-designed to cater to its clients’ training and development requirements.

Complementing the programs are facilities designed to integrate state-of-the-art technology and a top-class learning environment. The 10-hectare compound houses a total of 14 function rooms that can accommodate groups of various sizes – from national conferences or learning events for 200 guests to a small meeting for a group of 10. Each function room is equipped with complete and modern audio-visual presentation equipment, all of which are centrally controlled through a touch-panel display screen. The function rooms are complemented by the Executive Residences, a modern, 67-room hotel designed with the guest’s comfort and needs.

Bryggarsalen, Stockholm, Sweden

Located 40 minutes from Stockholm’s Arlanda Airport, Bryggarsalen is a unique and historically interesting meeting venue located in the heart of Stockholm. The central location provides easy access using either public or private transport. Bryggarsalen hosts day conferences, seminars, lectures, parties, concerts and other events. The maximum capacity for concerts and “mingle parties” is 360 people.

A careful and professionally performed restoration of the venue has turned this historical beer brewery into a fully equipped, modern venue while maintaining the charm and atmosphere of the building’s rich history. The 100-year-old interior, boasting a 26-foot-high ceiling, marble staircases and big, arched windows gives the venue the right light, space and atmosphere for a successful meeting. The creative and ambitious restaurant makes everything “from scratch” and incorporates ecological, fair trade marked and locally produced foods and embraces vegetarian requests.

UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center, Lake Arrowhead, California

Recognized as one of the finest full-service mountain retreats in southern California, the UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center is 90 miles from Los Angeles and two hours from most southern California areas, including Anaheim, Pasadena and San Diego.

The conference center is a unique learning environment on 42 acres with stunning views of Lake Arrowhead and of the San Bernardino Mountains, and combines comfortable amenities with unparalleled natural beauty.

It can accommodate a broad range of meeting space needs with its 14 meeting rooms in a range of sizes, from traditional meeting space in the main lodge or a unique venue in the Cedar Lodge. The property also has a wide variety of outdoor spaces, including extensive decks, an amphitheater and sprawling lawns.

The UCLA Lake Arrowhead Conference Center can accommodate up to 200 overnight guests in an assortment of rooms types, including condos, cottages, cedar lodge rooms, and a four-bedroom chalet.

FMC Technologies Learning Center, Houston

Just north of Houston, the FMC Technologies Learning Center opened in February. The 25,000-square-foot learning center on the campus of Lone Star College University Park is equipped with classrooms, computer labs, a demonstration theater and 11 learning spaces ranging in size from 300 square feet to 1,600 square feet. Advanced technology includes 60-inch touch screens for brainstorming and interactive activities and the Immersion Theatre for HD videos, animations and simulations. Convenient accommodations are available nearby.

The Alexander, Indianapolis

The Alexander, a Dolce Hotel, offers guests an exciting take on hospitality by transforming guest rooms, restaurants and event spaces into havens for commissioned works of art. Each one of the 157 guest rooms and 52 extended-stay units focus on creating a relaxed environment while enlivening the senses with color and eye-catching art. Meetings and events can be held in 16,500 square feet of event space. The Alexander is located in the CityWay neighborhood in downtown Indianapolis.

Founded in 1981, the IACC is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting understanding and awareness of the conference center industry and to giving member properties the tools necessary to provide an exceptional meeting experience. Active members meet a set of stringent quality standards and agree to a code of ethics. The association includes approximately 400 members located around the globe.
