The International Association of Exhibitions and Events announces the expansion of its Certified in Exhibition Management (CEM) Learning Program to meet the needs of exhibitions and events professionals as they develop their career in the industry. Building on years of experience, the recently debuted IAEE Certification Journey is comprised of five levels: Workforce Ready Assessment, CEM Certified, CEM-Advanced Professional, CEM Fellow and CEM Emeritus.

“The IAEE Certification Journey provides a distinctive path for those in the CEM community to build additional core leadership skills in their career path,” says 2019 IAEE Chairperson Tom Cindric, Jr., CEM, senior VP for Informa, Global Exhibitions. “It speaks to IAEE’s overall strategic plan to provide personalized learning experiences that tie in to our members’ career growth and development.”

As CEMs complete each phase of their certification journey, they will receive a digital badge that can be used on business cards, email signatures, etc. to demonstrate their CEM certification level.

Applicants must complete one mandatory, two-day course as part of the CEM-AP requirement.

“Leading and Negotiating for Success” will be offered prior to the Women’s Leadership Forum on April 28-29 at the Lansdowne Resort & Spa in Leesburg, Va. The course will be taught by Georgetown University Professor Dr. Sam Potolicchio, who is also the director of Global and Custom Education at the McCourt School of Public Policy at Georgetown University.

IAEE Executive VP and COO Cathy Breden, CMP, CAE says, “We saw an ideal opportunity for current CEMs planning to attend the Women’s Leadership Forum to maximize this time they have set aside for professional development. Even for CEMs not attending WLF, it is a convenient opportunity to take the next step in their certification journey.”
