The president and CEO of International Association of Exhibitions and Event (IAEE) was appointed as chairman of the board of directors for Convention Industry Council (CIC), effective Nov. 1.
As a member of CIC, David DuBois, CMP, CAE, FASAE, CTA, has been a strong proponent of the organization’s efforts to expand the global reach of the meetings, exhibitions and events industry.
“Much like IAEE, the CIC has been focusing its efforts on emphasizing the worldwide impact of meetings, exhibitions and events, on the economy and overall marketplace,” said DuBois. “I look forward to building on the CIC’s progress as well as continuing to develop its excellent education programs and member initiatives. We look forward to a very productive year in 2015.”
CIC champions the economic and social value of the meetings and event profession by promoting a strong meetings, conventions and exhibitions industry. It provides excellent standards and practices within the industry to its more than 30 member organizations representing over 103,500 individuals and 19,500 firms and properties. CIC strives to connect people and form strong global partnerships through certification and accreditation programs, voluntary standards and best practices, and fostering collaboration on industry issues.
