Idea International, a Japan-based company that de-mystifies exhibitions and trade fairs in countries like Japan, Korea, China, Thailand and Singapore, added two key account managers.
Haruka Matsuno and Ian Michie are now based in Osaka for their new positions with the company.
“Our business has developed to the point where it makes sense to expand our staff,” said Christopher Dorn, president, Idea International. “Haruka and Ian are exceptional people, experienced in the event industry and very savvy. Haruka works amazingly well with U.S. companies because of the years she spent in California, and Ian is a great fit as the demand for client services in Australia continues to increase.”
Matsuno is a graduate of San Diego State University with a degree in hospitality and tourism. She has worked in the events industry in both the U.S. and Japan, and is fluent in Japanese and English.
Michie, a native of Australia, who holds a B.A. from the University of Sydney and an MBA from the University of Newcastle, has worked in conference sales in Australia, Germany and Japan. Like Matsuno, he is multilingual.
