The International Federation of Exhibition and Event Services (IFES) participated for the first time in the EXHIBITOR2013 show, America’s leading event dedicated to exhibit design and logistics, on March 17 to March 20 at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in sunny Las Vegas.
Exhibit participation was organized by three IFES board members as well as Bruno Meissner, IFES president, and Gloria Guevara, IFES Executive Director.
3D Exhibits provided the exhibit and Vision Expo prepared graphic layouts while World Show Services, Czarnowski, Brumark and Coastal Int’l provided all other services as a unified team to assist IFES.
“Our goal was to increase membership, create IFES brand awareness and attract members to attend this year’s World Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa. We fully exceeded our expectations at this event!” says Voicu Sferdianu of Expo Design System-Romania.
The 3-meter stand at the annual MOD Awards was fully donated by IFES members, an event dedicated to excellence in exhibit design. IFES members Peter Theodorides of Vision Expo in Athens, Voicu Sferdianu of Expo Design in Romania, and Axel von Hagen of von Hagen Design from Germany served as judges for the award event. This was the first year that the event dedicated an award specifically for international design. The event had the feel of attending the Academy Awards in Hollywood with red carpet entry and celebrity hosts. “We were honored to be a part of this event and hope to attend again in coming years,” says the president of IFES.
With six board members in attendance, the IFES education committee, chaired by Horst Tondasch of World Show Services, hosted a committee meeting to jump start the newly created three-year Education plan.
The Exhibitor Show management celebrated its 25th year and extended a warm welcome to IFES for their first year as participants. “We intend to participate in [the] Exhibitor [Show] in coming years. We fully achieved our goal to gain exposure as a valuable organization, dedicated to partnerships with worldwide exhibit suppliers and to grow our educational programs. Our motto to share knowledge and build trusting relationships enhanced our relationship in the U.S. marketplace. We exist to assist those who wish to grow their international business along with our American association partner EDPA,” says Gloria Guevara, IFES Director.
