The International Live Events Association is pleased to announce the nominees for the 2021 Esprit Awards, which honor the most creative, engaging and innovative events and initiatives from 2020. Recipients will be announced live at the virtual Esprit Awards Celebration on Aug. 13.
Powered by CORT Events, the 2021 Esprit Awards recognize excellence in events of varying types, sizes, budgets and production elements across a variety of categories and subcategories. In recognition of the challenging year that meetings and events professionals all over the world have endured, ILEA for the first time has opened the Esprit Awards program to the entire community of events professionals and events industry organizations, and they added four new categories to recognize their inspiring accomplishments:
- Best Industry Adaptation
- Best Virtual Event
- Best Hybrid Event
- Best Corporate Social Responsibility
Also new this year: ILEA is announcing all Esprit nominees in advance, but not the categories in which they are nominated. To build suspense and generate excitement, both the categories as well as the honorees in each category will be revealed live during the Esprit Awards Celebration.
“This year has been an incredibly challenging year for everyone in our industry, but to see so many innovating and creative entries is truly inspiring,” said JC York, chair of ILEA‘s Esprit Awards Committee. “It shows once again that our industry is resilient, and we find ways of adapting and overcoming any challenge.
