IMEX America showcases new educational program at annual conference

Gearing up for the annual IMEX America conference, the organizers of the exhibition published full details regarding the show’s four-day professional education program held at the Sands Expo in Las Vegas.

Dominating the schedule this year, several major industry topics will be previewed. The hottest topics for IMEX 2013 are data mining; marketing and communications; and technology and apps. Each topic has specific sessions and lectures from top industry professionals.

The 2013 program kicks off with Smart Monday on Oct. 14 and continues through Oct. 17. Complementing the strong business focus of the tradeshow, IMEX America works with a variety of leading industry partners and partner associations every year to deliver a free, extensive education program to all attendees.

“In addition to the 2012 show’s strong business performance, our feedback survey canvassed views on the variety and quality of education on offer,” said Carina Bauer, CEO, IMEX Group. “It showed that 39 percent of hosted buyers rated our education program ‘very important’.

“Of course, it’s essential for us to achieve a balance between business opportunities – the primary focus for buyers and exhibitors – and providing a range of other added-value services and education for our attendees. I believe this year’s program hits the right mark with its excellent quality and diversity.”

Before the show officially opens, IMEX offers a unique day of education, known as “Smart Monday,” that allows all participants including buyers, exhibitors and trade attendees to take part in professional development sessions.

Also taking place on Smart Monday is the IAEE CEM Program on ‘Security, Risk and Crisis Management’ including expert seminars delivered by the Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI), the International Special Events Society (ISES) and Site for the first time.

Developed specifically for meeting industry professionals, Smart Monday deep-dive education sessions will feature presentations from Paul Bridle, CEO, Bridle Group, who will present “Leadership Starts from Within,” and David Bancroft-Turner, director of training solutions, Matrix TC, who will advise on “Using ‘Personality DNA’ to Influence, Sell and Communicate More Effectively.”
