ICC Wales, based in Newport, South Wales has recently won several industry awards for its work in educating the global events sector on the incoming Protect Duty, also known as Martyn’s Law. This legislation is a direct result of campaigning by Figen Murray OBE, the mother of Martyn Hett who was killed in the Manchester Arena terrorist attack in 2017. The new legislation will formalise the responsibilities and actions that publicly accessible locations in the UK must take to mitigate the risk of a terrorist attack.
Danielle Bounds, Sales Director, ICC Wales, will discuss the work surrounding Martyn’s Law, as well as updates from the venue including its success in customer retention, plans to engage delegates at events, and the meetings and events industry’s national importance. Sarah Ameson, Sales Manager, ICC Wales, will also be attending and is keen to share an insight into how event venues can support agencies to continue bolstering the business events sector and meet demand as part of the industry’s post-pandemic recovery.
The Celtic Collection
Also attending is The Celtic Collection, which will be exhibiting its portfolio of properties including the iconic Celtic Manor Resort in Newport, its newest addition, The Parkgate Hotel in Cardiff, and the recently refurbished Newbridge on Usk Hotel in Monmouthshire and Tŷ Magor, also in Newport.
Rebecca Hale, Corporate Sales Manager, Celtic Manor Resort, will be attending the show on behalf of the Collection, to discuss the portfolio’s meeting and events offering which includes a wide range of spaces suited for exhibitions, conferences, intimate dinners and incentives. She will also discuss the portfolio’s latest business wins, the Collection’s sustainability policy and practices, as well as the importance of channelling a destination’s culture into events.
