In Memoriam: Leo Ouimette, LV Teamsters

Las Vegas Teamsters

Leo Ouimette, 97, had a varied career, starting in insurance sales and ending as a Las Vegas Teamster working in the hospitality industry. He was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous, leading hundreds, if not thousands of people throughout his life to sobriety. He was an avid golfer, and an even more prolific reader, especially books on history. Born in Providence R.I., he answered his nation’s call in World War II and participated in the island hopping campaign with the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his sisters, Claire Robarge and Sister Alice Ouimette RJM; his wife, Christine; his daughter Carol McCourt; sons Stephen, Michael, Thomas and Edmund; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother Marie (Tremblay), father Edmund Leo, brother Raymond and his son James.
