Leading-edge meeting design components at the European Meetings and Events Conference (EMEC) will demonstrate how new ideas in room layout, technology, collaboration techniques and even catering can be put into practice immediately to drive business performance and attendee success from their own events.

Delegates will encounter a Meeting Design Area with demonstrations of meeting-room innovations and opportunities to participate in a meeting-design experiment focused on the impact of physical positions on groups of participants. This is one of the ways hands-on experience leads into learning, as the Meeting Design Area is complemented by sessions such as “Designing Interaction for High Attendance Events.”
Attendees will spend valuable time among their peers and learn from some of the most unique and visionary speakers from across Europe. Attendees who are not members of MPI will have a unique opportunity to experience some of the exceptional programming that takes place at the chapter level. MPI capitalizes on its chapters’ exceptional programs and has selected two from its “Best of the Best” competition to appear at EMEC.
Elevating the mobile experience, MPI offers EMEC 2012 applications, now available on iPhone, iPod Touch and BlackBerry Smartphone that allow delegates to evaluate speakers and sessions in real time, access social networking sites, direct message other delegates and maintain a customized diary for the conference. Many of these mobile elements and meeting design area experiences are designed so European event professionals can experience live what they are learning about in dynamic sessions such as “The Revolution Starts Where?” and “Make Virtual Presentations Inspiring & Engaging.”
EMEC 2012 also brings to Budapest MPI’s FlashPoint programme, which presents exceptional speakers in a showcase of rapid-fire presentations on forward-thinking topics that have broad-reaching impacts on events and business. Attendees will experience firsthand the expertise of FlashPoint speaker and Chef Christian Bitz, who consulted on the entire event’s menus.
EMEC is pushing the experiential education into the conference’s social events as well. The opening reception at the Budapest Museum of Fine Arts, delegates will experience Molecular Mixology, the latest innovation in the catering world. Delegates can then explore further advances in how new catering selections can impact learning ability in meeting attendees during Bitz’s Master Class on “Eating Right – Makes Your Meetings Bright.”
