The Melbourne International Film Festival is an iconic annual Melbourne event showcasing the biggest and most highly anticipated films and cultural experience across Melbourne. This year, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre (MCEC) is excited to be named as one of MIFF’s five new venues for 2019.
A number of MIFF special events will take place at MCEC including the MIFF 2019 Opening Night Gala, Girlhood + Sampa The Great and Thurston Moore: In Conversation.
“We look forward to welcoming MIFF to MCEC and transforming our Plenary into a must visit destination for all film-lovers this August,” says Peter King, chief executive officer of MCEC. “We are lucky in Melbourne to have such a dynamic major events calendar and the opportunity to showcase our city all year round.”
More special events and film screenings will be announced as part of the MIFF 2019 Program Launch in July. MIFF takes place across Melbourne Aug. 1-18.
