Over the 17-month partnership, ISES will be working with VisitScotland to increase its exposure to the global events industry through collaborative projects and participation in international events. The newly launched Global Partner Program will also allow VisitScotland to interact with the 5,000 members of ISES worldwide, and benefit from a global event spend of $22 billion.

“Following such a tremendous year, as we build upon the legacy of 2014 which showed that Scotland really is the perfect stage for creative events of all types – business, sporting and cultural, VisitScotland is delighted to become a Global Partner of ISES,” said Neil Brownlee, head of business events, VisitScotland. “We look forward to a fruitful partnership and getting fully involved with the ISES family.”

VisitScotland’s Business Tourism Unit is looking to grow its already stellar reputation as a global events hub, and to capitalize on the stunning success of the Commonwealth Games, the Ryder Cup, MTV Awards, BBC Sports Personality Awards, and a host of major business to business events that visited Scotland throughout 2014.

“Scotland is a world class destination for events and VisitScotland has a global reputation for excellence, creativity and innovation,” commented ISES International President Kevin White, CSEP. “These are values that we both share and we look to collaborating further during this very important and exciting partnership.”

VisitScotland is leading the way in becoming the first destination partner in the Global Partner Program, and is the fifth overall member after HCC Specialty Insurance in early February 2015, and Catersource: Event Solutions, CORT and Giants Enterprises in 2014.
