Journalist conference slated for Puerto Vallarta in 2015

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board has won the hosting responsibilities of the North American Travel Journalists Association (NATJA) 2015 Conference & Marketplace to be held in Puerto Vallarta in May 2015.

NATJA is the second largest association of writers, photographers, editors and tourism professionals dedicated to redefining professional development for the travel industry. Members of the association have been published in leading publications including the “New York Times,” “National Geographic” and “USA Today.”

Puerto Vallarta, an active member of NATJA, has participated in the NATJA awards for the last three years with hotel and vacation packages distributed to the winning writers.

“For Puerto Vallarta, it is important to be able to work with the best and most professional associations possible,” said Rolando Miravete, executive director of the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board. “Our work with NATJA over the past three years has proven the benefit this journalists association can bring to Puerto Vallarta.”

More than 200 active journalists, associate members and guests are expected to participate in the conference, May 5-8, 2015,the first time the conference will take place outside of the United States.

“We are pleased to bring our conference to Puerto Vallarta, and we are confident that their experience in this beautiful destination will result in wonderful stories, tweets and blogs,” said Helen Hernandez, CEO of NATJA. “We look forward to introducing our members to a new side of Mexico and highlight Puerto Vallarta’s world-class tourism infrastructure.”
