Kuala Lumpur Convention Center Delivers Results at IMEX America

The Center, The Kuala Lumpur Convention Center, Malaysia’s premier award-winning purpose-built AIPC (International Association of Congress Centers) Gold Standard venue, attended its eighth consecutive IMEX America 2018, on the back of one of its busiest years of engagement with the North American market. This included an educational visit for Maritz Global Events, a tie up with Marketing Challenges International and four major U.S.-based events taking place at The Center in 2018.

“We are also very much looking forward to the upcoming U.S.-based Society for Conservation Biology International Congress for Conservation Biology in 2019, which will be utilizing our new 11,000 sq.m. expansion.” says Alan Pryor, The Center’s general manager.

The 2018 calendar includes the 22nd Congress of the World Council of Enterostomal Therapists 2018, Global Round World Scholar Cup 2018, 31st International Federation of Technical Analysts Annual Conference 2018 and Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers International Conference on Robotics & Biomimetics 2018.

“We have been consistently investing in the North American market over the years to build our presence and secure U.S.-based association and corporate meetings that go offshore,” says Pryor. “This year we have stepped up our efforts to reflect our commitment to this market and recently engaged  Marketing Challenges International to represent us to build a consistent presence and a more effective engagement strategy.”

He also highlighted an educational program they recently hosted, as part of its global business development strategy, for prominent American company Maritz Global Events. The program hosted by the Kuala Lumpur Convention Center Business Events Alliance was designed to facilitate knowledge exchange and provide a first-hand educational and experiential immersion to Kuala Lumpur and the Malaysia business events landscape.

“Kuala Lumpur is an excellent destination and its principal qualities are expertise, value for money, and the exceptional hospitality in this country,” ” says Ben Goedegebuure, global general manager general manager, Maritz Global Events. “It is one of the outstanding international destinations to recommend to all multinational and international delegates that might come to this destination.”

Recently, the Center won three North American-based association bids from the medical and information technology sectors to be held in 2020.
