Lansdowne Resort brings on hospitality industry veteran

Lansdowne Resort, a full-service resort in Washington, D.C., named a managing director.

An accomplished hospitality industry veteran with more than three decades of luxury resort and hotel experience, James Horsman was chosen for this role.

Horsman joins the resort after serving as the managing director and vice president of operations at the Madison Hotel in Washington, D.C.

“My goal is to build upon the history of Lansdowne and position it as the preeminent resort and club experience in Northern Virginia,” said Horsman. “The resort has a dedicated team who understand the importance of creating a culture of service while offering an experience that is both relevant and memorable. We look forward to creating an atmosphere that will benefit our leisure, social and business guests along with club members and their families for generations to come.”

In Vermont, Horsman helped develop and launch Stowe Mountain Lodge, which was named among the top hotels in the world by Conde Nast Traveler. He also served as the general manager at the award-winning Nine Zero Hotel in Boston, which was also named amongst the world’s best hotels by Conde Nast Traveler and Travel & Leisure.

While with Ritz-Carlton, Horsman was responsible for opening and operating multiple properties in diverse domestic and international locations, such as Dubai, Hawaii, Mexico, Marina del Rey, Atlanta and Philadelphia.
