Editors Note: This letter is addressed to Tom Ackert, Executive Director of the Orange County Convention Center, from Chuck Holmes, President of Orlando I&D, in response to the Society of Plastics – NPE Show move from Chicago to Orlando.
Dear Tom,
I am sure I speak on behalf of the many service companies that call Orlando home and support the convention and trade show industry exclusively, when I say “congratulations and many thanks for the diligent procurement of the Society of Plastics – NPE show”. I had the pleasure of working on this show for many years starting in 1974.
This show will surely usher more manufacturing associations to the table and aid greatly in the future growth of Orlando. I would also like to take time to thank Gary Sain of the OCVB and Jessie Allen of the OCCC for their tireless efforts and fortitude, they brought home the prize! I am certain the list of staff members that played important roles is a long one, and our thanks go to each and every one of them.
Once again I call to our community to do their continuing part of servicing each and every client to the best of their ability, to constantly look for ways to improve and enhance the products and services we provide to our customers. In order for Orlando to continue as one of the top show destinations in the country, we must always be better, work harder and do that efficiently while also maintaining cost effective procedures. We are a collective group that is equally responsible for attracting events to Orlando and doing our part to keep them here.
Once again, my congratulations and many thanks. Please let us know if we can do anything to assist now or in the future to help the Orlando marketplace grow.
