LVCVA bestowed National Accreditation Award for Procurement

The Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), charged with marketing Southern Nevada as a tourism and convention destination worldwide, received the Outstanding Agency Accreditation Achievement Award (OA4) from The Institute for Public Procurement, known as NIGP. The LVCVA is the only agency in Clark County, and one of only two in the state of Nevada, to achieve this standard.

The accreditation formally recognizes excellence in public procurement by establishing policies and procedures that should be in place for a solid purchasing operation.

Working for nine months, the LVCVA purchasing department developed the application packet, including extensive supporting documentation on policies, procedures, internal controls and best practices.

The award provides an increased level of credibility to the agency purchasing procedures.
