Marina Bay Sands picks up sustainability certification

Honored for its sustainability efforts, Marina Bay Sands was recognized as the first MICE facility in Southeast Asia to obtain the ISO 20121 Sustainable Events Management System certification.

The standard addresses management of improved sustainability throughout the entire event management cycle.

According to officials, the Singapore resort credit the commitment to environmental protection and sustainable event planning for achieving the certification.

George Tanasijevich, president and CEO, Marina Bay Sands, stated the recognition was a significant milestone.

“Our organization is committed to integrating our business operations with sustainable practices, and this certification helps strengthen our position in both the meeting industry as well as the community we operate in,” said Tanasijevich.

Officials added that the resort’s parent company, Las Vegas Sands, through the Sands ECO360° program, promotes responsible operations in the areas of green building, environmentally responsible operations, green meetings and sustainability education and outreach.
