Massachusetts Gov. Deval Patrick appointed Convention Data Services’ (CDS) human resources director to the Board of Trustees of a local college.
In this role, Judy Barrigas will be responsible for helping to shape policy supporting the mission of this board of the Cape Cod Community College, also known as “4Cs.”
“The College is honored that Ms. Barrigas has committed to serve our community in her role as a trustee. She brings a wealth of current business experience and familiarity with 4Cs that will enhance the work of our board,” commented John Cox, president, Cape Cod Community College. “Clearly, Ms. Barrigas is committed to ensuring that our students’ education remains the first priority at Cape Cod Community College, with a focus on a strong foundation of critical and creative thinking.”
Barrigas will help the “4Cs” make student success its first priority and to provide opportunities and pathways of academic achievement, business advancement, and workforce development on the Cape and Islands, Canal Region, and in the Plymouth/South Shore region of Massachusetts.
“I’m very excited to be accepted as a member of this board. I’m looking forward to contributing to the continued development and evolvement of Cape Cod Community College,” stated Barrigas.
Barrigas was chosen for the Board of Trustees based on her 25-plus years of business experience, commitment to community, and her belief in the importance of making quality, affordable access to higher education and workforce training available to the region. She will begin her appointment at the board’s first meeting of the new academic year on Sept. 16.
