May is Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Natalie Ackerman is the Chief People Officer at Jack Morton Worldwide. Celebrating her 20th year with Jack Morton this year, Natalie has explored opportunities across the agency from production to operations and worked in our offices in New York, San Francisco, and Hong Kong – eventually finding her calling overseeing a team of global HR professionals and leading Jack Morton’s global diversity and inclusion strategy and efforts from our Boston HQ.

We asked Natalie what advice she has for AAPI talent trying to climb the career ladder to a leadership role in marketing:

“Know that whatever your background, gender, or ethnicity, there is a path to leadership,” Natalie says. “I had to learn and am still learning to speak up, share my aspirations, and advocate for myself more. Sometimes it still feels uncomfortable to do those things, but it’s important to me and aspiring talent to know you can progress. And know that you bring other amazing qualities to your roles and the industry. So, stand tall, use your voice, and be proud.”

What is AAPI

Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month is observed in the United States during the month of May, and recognizes the contributions and influence of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans to the history, culture, and achievements of the United States.
