McCormick Place Holiday Food Drive

In a collaborated effort with the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, the Chicago Federation of Labor and various trade unions, McCormick Place in Chicago will be holding a Thanksgiving food Drive for the union workers whose lives have been upended because of the pandemic.

Kevin-McLaughlin-Carpenters-Says Kevin McLaughlin (pictured left), UBC Tradeshow rep, Chicago Regional Council Carpenters rep, “We are looking to provide Thanksgiving meals to approximately 2,000 families. Donations are being collected through the CFL Workforce & Community Initiative, a 501(c)3 organization. All donations are tax-deductible as allowable by law.”

Checks should be made payable to CFL Workforce & Community Initiative, Attn: Freddie Fisher, 8027 S. Drexel Av., Chicago, IL 60619. donations are also being accepted online at www.ChicagoLaborReliefFund.org.

McLaughlin adds, “We recognize that a lot of our industry partners are also experiencing difficulties and may not be able to donate. Our members and their families are finding the strength to persevere and endure despite the overwhelming obstacles they are faced with every day and for that we would like to make sure they have an enjoyable holiday. We sincerely hope you will consider a donation.”
