The highly anticipated MEET National closed to rave reviews on Thursday afternoon with a nine percent increase in onsite attendance over last year.
Questex Travel Group, the organizer of the event, went through a deep dive revitalization project before launching this year’s event cycle. Based on feedback received on site, not only did the event deliver on the promise of an upgraded event, it exceeded expectations.
Kirk Lewis, meetings group director for Questex said this research led to the increase in partnerships in order to develop a more robust education program, as well as allowing for more networking time between exhibitors and attendees.
“The positive feedback we received from both meeting planners and exhibiting suppliers has been tremendous,” said Lewis. “Planners were blown away by the sheer breadth of education available to them at no charge, not to mention the phenomenal networking opportunities via the pre-scheduled appointments, the open show floor, and the charity activity developed by our partners at TeamBonding. I’m so pleased we were able to step up our game this year and deliver such a valuable program to our audience.”
The two and a half day conference offered over 20 sessions for CE credits developed in partnership with CIC, MPI, DMAI, SGMP, and IAEE; two keynote addresses, two intensive certificate programs by Meeting Professionals International, and an interactive town hall.
Sponsors of this year’s event include Convention Industry Council, Convention Planit, Cvent, Destination Marketing International Association, Digitell, Educational Measures, eventPower, Feathr, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, guidebook, International Association of Exhibitions and Events, Meetings & Events Media Group, MidAtlantic Events, Montego Bay Convention Center, The National Convention Center, PC/Nametag, Poken, Schneider Publishing, Society of Government Meeting Professionals, TeamBonding, Think Green Promotions, Travel Portland, and Visit Raleigh.
